Heating New Zealand's only dedicated wildlife hospital
Attached to Massey University’s veterinary school, Wildbase Hospital is New Zealand's only dedicated wildlife hospital. Wildbase is at the forefront of veterinary care of New Zealand’s native birds, half of which are classified as threatened or endangered.
Central Heating New Zealand provided 2 Baxi Power HT 1.150 (150kW) floor standing condensing gas boilers with stainless steel combustion chambers and electronic cascade management.
The three-storey, highly-glazed atrium is effectively warmed with underfloor heating. Purpose-built aviaries, designed to help individual native fauna are kept at a constant temperature to aid recovery from from illness and injury.
